The Mission
I have been researching ways to monetize web sites. I want to share with you the ways that I have found. This is ongoing research on my part, and I will be witting articles about the things that are working for me. The web, just like the world, is changing. More people are using the web for gathering information and for making purchases than ever before. When you put up a brick and mortar store you primarily serve your local area. Doing business outside your local area entails some extra expense. With the Internet the world is your local market.
Of course, the most beautiful web site on the web is of no value if it has no traffic. The way to obtain traffic is to offer value. You need content. You need to provide a reason for people to come to your site and to stay on your site. There are millions of sites and billions of pages available on the Internet. How to get people to come to your site in the first place, and to get them to come back to your site, must be a major concern if you hope to make money from your efforts.
I will be putting up pages on the various programs that are available to the web site owner. I will try to objectively detail the pros and cons of each program. I can offer an opinion on the program, but you should use that opinion as only one point of many when considering if a program is right for you. I do not claim to be an expert in this subject, but I am reasonably well read and try to be objective when evaluating programs.
At
some point you will need to join at least one affiliate network. The
affiliate network is the go between, between the publisher and the
advertisers. The affiliate network provides a central place for the
publisher/affiliate to join the programs of advertisers and get the
advertisers creatives (banners and links). They also handle the
payments from the advertisers to the publishers. One of the better

There is one program that I would like to discuss right now. By far the best looking program that I have seen on the net is the SiteSell program.
